Okay, it’s time to tell you the must install applications on HTC HD2. I forgot to do so previously. Microsoft. NET Compact Framework 3.5 is a must install just like the desktop version. Most of the Microsoft mobile applications need it. Well, you can download Microsoft. NET Compact Framework 3.5 at Microsoft website at 33.3 MB. Besides big file size, you need to install it from desktop PC. It is not a very user friendly method as most of my HTC HD2 applications are in CAB format and store in my micro SD card. Luckily, there is lot of good people out there who extracted it into cab version at 2.6 MB size only. By the way, DO install it at device storage. And this version should support other Windows Mobile phone like Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.1, 6.5 or 6.5.x too. Download Microsoft. NET Compact Framework 3.5 cab here.

In order to see what version is installed use File Explorer to navigate to the \ Windows directory on the device, and click the file called CGACUTIL. You will get a message box showing you the Win32 File Version of the. NET 3.5 Framework. C:\ Program Files\ Microsoft. NET\ SDK\ Compact Framework\v3.5\ Wind ows CE was the location. NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab. Now under this same directory i also have NETCFv35.ppc.armv4.cab NETCFv35.wce.mipsii.cab NETCFv35.wce.sh4.cab NETCFv35.wce.armv4.cab NETCFv35.wce.mipsiv.cab NETCFv35.wce.x86.cab that all said. i will grab the newest download for 4 and post my findings. Ok, i installed the 4.0 package from microsoft. checked the program files and ran a search on my box for all.cabs. seeing if it squirreled them away. no dice though. let me know if you guys find anything on a windows mobile version of the 4.0.
