Card reader name and model is usually written on the information label (usually located on the backside of the reader). Product ID can be found from from ID-card utility diagnostics (from ID-card software version 3.7). Under Windows the card reader works with all drivers (manufacturer and Microsoft class drivers unless marked otherwise in the table. Under Linuxi and Mac OS X the default driver will work ( USB CCID unless marked otherwise in the table. After using standby and hibernate functionality there could be problems with reading the ID-card. This should only happen if the card was in the reader and some ID-software component in use during that time.  Usually the solution is to remove and insert the card to the reader again but sometimes its required to restart the ID-software component or the computer. PIN-pad readers can have issues in Windows terminal solutions as terminal systems are not officially supported environments by the ID-card software. In the table below, the ID-software version besides the card reader means that this card reader has been tested with all the operating systems supported by that ID-software version. Comments box describes all specialities and possible problems. For every ID-software version the list of tested card readers is agreed on between Estonian Information Systems Authority RIA (client) and Sertifitseerimiskeskus (software developer).
