They bust into the house to find it nearly empty, except for a basement that might as well be on the show Hoarders and an upstairs room where several staticky tube TVs are hissing in front of an old bearded dead man in a La- Z- Boy. As they.

Once again, John Williams has exceeded my expectations and produced a lavish, rich, moving and thrilling score. Every fan of Star Wars—and of great music—is in his debt. ― George Lucas[src] The musical scores for all the Star Wars films were composed by John Williams. The music for the films are especially distinctive as it has been known to paint musical pictures of such accessibility and precision, and Williams's invaluable contribution to the double-trilogy stands as an unsurpassed feat in the history of film scoring in terms of breadth, thematic-development and cultural impact. The scores utilize an eclectic variety of musical styles, many culled from the Late Romantic idiom of Richard Strauss and his contemporaries that itself was incorporated into the Golden Age Hollywood scores of Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Max Steiner. While several obvious nods to Holst, Walton, and Stravinsky exist in the score to A New Hope, Williams relied less and less on classical references in the latter five scores, incorporating more strains of modernist orchestral writing with each progressive score. The reasons for Williams's tapping of a familiar Romantic idiom are known to involve Lucas's desire to ground the otherwise strange and fantastic setting in well-known, audience-accessible music. Indeed, much of the trilogy's success relies not on advanced visual effects, but on the simple, direct emotional appeal of its plot, characters, and, importantly, music. Star Wars is often credited as heralding the beginning of a revival of grand symphonic scores in the late 1970s. While to ascribe this feat single-handedly to Williams is premature, the popularity and impact of the scores was a major contribution. One technique in particular has had a particular influence: Williams's revival of a technique called leitmotif, which is most famously associated with the operas of Richard Wagner.
Bigger and bluer than ever. But is it better? Reviewed by Casey Broadwater, November 15, 2010 You knew it was coming. Back in April, when 20th Century Fox released a bare-boned, bonus-feature-free edition of Avatar to coincide with Earth Day, the studio made it perfectly clear that a fully loaded multi-disc set was only a few months away. If you picked up that initial release, then, there's no room to complain about being forced to double dip. You really can't say you weren't warned. On the other hand, if you've held out these past seven months, waiting for the Avatar set to end all Avatar sets—until, at least, the inevitable 3 D Blu-ray edition—well, your patience is going to be thoroughly rewarded. I've just spent the weekend with this new three-disc release, and I'm here to report that it's as exhaustive, encyclopedic, and all-encompassing as you'd hope. To start, you get three versions of the film—the Original Theatrical Release, the eight-minute-longer Special Edition Re- Release, and the Collector's Extended Cut, which has all the footage from the Special Edition plus another eight minutes of reintegrated, fully finished material. The three cuts are selectable from the menu of Disc One, and presented via seamless branching. Disc Two, titled Filmmakers' Journey, contains a lengthy making of documentary, along with over 45-minutes of never-before-seen deleted scenes, and Disc Three, Pandora's Box, is a treasure trove of production featurettes and scene deconstructions. Fans couldn't ask for more. And, of course, this set is meant for Avatar fans. If you're completely new to the film—that is, if you're one of the three people on the planet who have no clue what a Na'vi is—let me direct you to my original review, which can be found here. The short version is this: I think Avatar is an evolutionary leap forward in motion capture technology, the blending of live-action.
