Overview Shin Megami Tensei IV is the fourth main entry in Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei series and the first to be developed for the Nintendo 3 DS. It will be released in Japan on May 23, 2013, in North America on July 16, 2013, and in Europe at an unspecified date. The game was initially announced during E3 2010 under the name Shin Megami Tensei 3 DS on a list of titles in development for the platform and was officially announced as Shin Megami Tensei IV on May 30, 2012. Artwork posted on the game's official website indicates that at least part of the game will take place in Ginza, a district of Tokyo. Further details were divulged by Atlus consumer software head Naoto Hiraoka in a Famitsu interview, who said that the game will feature a proper evolution of series mechanics and gameplay along with a battle system that will retain influence from past titles. The game is being directed by Kazuyuki Yamai, who had previously directed the Maniacs edition of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne as well as both Raidou Kuzunoha entries in the Devil Summoner series. Other members of the team behind Nocturne Maniacs are also involved in the game's development. Demon designs are being provided by a collection of designers that have previous experience designing characters for tokusatsu action series such as Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, including Yasushi Nirasawa, Tamotsu Shinohara, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Keita Amemiya, and Aki Kyouma. The human character designs are being provided by Masayuki Doi, who previously worked on the art and character design in the Wii title Trauma Team. A preview trailer for the game was included in the 3 DS remake of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, which was released on August 30, 2012 in Japan. This trailer was the first look at the game and revealed the game's third-person map exploration, comic-style cutscenes, and voice acting. Story The gauntlet-bequeathing.
Shin Megami Tensei IV 9. Awesome gameplay This game really impressed me greatly. When i played this game i was blown away by the graphics of it. SMT: IV is TOP SHELF gaming The Shin Megami Tensei series is fantastic; with luminous occult themes, charming philosophical dialogue and characters, and respectfully challenging gameplay. SMT IV looks surprisingly beautiful on the 3 DS, and the mobile format of the handheld lends itself perfectly to RPG's of this calibre. 3 DS owners who are fans of this series or RPG's as a genre would do well to heed this title. I have to praise ATLUS for being the spiritual successors to Game Arts/ Working Designs ( Lunar 2: Silver Star Story, Arc the Lad) with their expansive limited edition packages. The limited edition version of SMT: IV promises to be a keeper. Maybe some jewelry in the future, ATLUS? Or at least the dualistic 3 DS XL? SMT IV = NO BRAINER Those familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei series know that it has the highest level of art design combined with seriously philisophical and psychologically interesting stories and dialogue. The gameplay of this series is strategic yet fast paced and uses a varying turn-based battle system in which attacking enemies with elements/attack types they are vulnerable to can grant more turns, and likewise with enemies attacking your party. For those not in the know but with a love for dark art and rpgs I highly recommend any game in this series. My personal favorites are Nocturne (to which IV is the sequel to Strange Journey and the Digital Devil Saga. SMT 4 LIFE! Shin Megami Tensei = Best franchise ever! This would have to be my most anticipated game of 2013, I had dreams about playing this game before it came out but then waking up and being mad that it wasn't real. First of all, the gameplay. The gameplay uses a press-turn system where you can gain more.
