Sb5101 firmware update download

System Requirements: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 8.1

[ Edited ] Hello, Can I please have a tech-savvy Comcast support rep verify that my firware is up to date on my SB5101 U?  If not, can you please manually push a firmware upgrade to my modem?  The low-end tech support for Comcast does not have the ability to do this, but Motorola is very specific that the ISP has sole authority in firmware upgrades. My speeds are coming up at half what they should be 10 Mbps as opposed to 20 Mbps.  Please note that the SB5120 that I was renting from Comcast has no issue getting around 20 Mbps. Please let me know what you need from me ( MAC address, s/n, etc.).  Your quick support is greatly appreciated.
From what I have read on these forums, some ISP's will help you if you call in and request that the latest firmware be pushed out to your modem, while others won't even give you the time of day if you make such a request. That said, I believe that for pretty much every ISP, if you remove the AC power from the modem for a few minutes, and then plug it in again, when the modem initializes, it will automatically check to see if the firmware agrees with what your ISP is currently using for that model and will update if needed. Others are welcome to correct me if I am wrong here. It is also my understanding that different ISP's can be using different firmware versions for the same model modem, so just because you read that someone on Comcast (for example) has SB5101 firmware version ABC, and Cox has given you version 123, this doesn't mean that you have inferior firmware.

Motorola created the mobile communications industry. They invented most of the protocols and technologies that make mobile communications possible, including the first mobile phone, the first base station and pretty much everything else in between. Today, Motorola is combining that pioneering spirit with Google’s vision and commitment to consumers. That’s their phones run on Android, the world's most popular operating system. Android brings the openness that shaped the Internet to the mobile world. That’s also why Motorola is the first company to bring smartphone production back to the USA and allow people to customise their own phone design. Short for modulator-demodulator. A modem is a device or program that enables a computer to transmit data over, for example, telephone or cable lines. Computer information is stored digitally, whereas information transmitted over telephone lines is transmitted in the form of analog waves. A modem converts between these two forms. So, the modem modulates an analog carrier signal to encode digital information, and also demodulates such a carrier signal to decode the transmitted information. The goal is to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded to reproduce the original digital data Motorola hardware is not excluded from the errors and common file corruptions that any other hardware device or Windows component is susceptible to from day-to-day. As driver updates are developed, yours soon becomes out-of-date, and as errors occur and files are lost, your driver may become missing or corrupted. Sometimes an installation process simply goes wrong or an update is applied incorrectly. Whatever the cause, it’s no longer working and it needs to be fixed. Common Causes of Failure. - The driver is out-of-date - The driver is missing or corrupt - Update failure - The device is damaged Hopefully, your device is not damaged.
