Rapid Eye Movement, trzeci pełnowymiarowy album Riverside jest jednym z najbardziej oczekiwanych polskich wydawnictw roku 2007. W czerwcu do rąk tych najbardziej niecierpliwych i ciekawych fanów trafił drugi w dyskografii grupy singel. Na małej płytce zatytułowanej 02 Panic Room znalazły się trzy premierowe utwory i jeden remix. Języczkiem u wagi jest tu tytułowy 02 Panic Room. Pierwsza próbka nowej płyty zwraca uwagę ciekawą, hipnotyczną zagrywką basu, niezłym refrenem i powarkującą gitarą. Tajemniczą atmosferę budują także chłodne, raczej wycofane dźwięki instrumentów klawiszowych. Zaryzykowałbym opinię, że 02 Panic Room nie będzie ani najsłabszym ani najlepszym utworem na Rapid Eye Movement. Ot, taki odpowiednik I Turned You Down z drugiej płyty. Lucid Dream IV to dość charakterystyczna dla Riverside, instrumentalna zabawa balansująca między artrockiem a progmentalem. Jest tu trochę połamańców rytmicznych, wariacji na keyboardach, a gitara raz prowadzi ładne melodyjne solo, by po chwili uderzyć cięższą metalową frazę. Back To The River to znany z koncertów (stały otwieracz na trasach 2006 roku) ukłon w stronę Pink Floyd. Ten ponad sześciominutowy utwór instrumentalny zawiera kilka flojdowych smaczków - riff wyjęty z Shine On You Crazy Diamond i dźwięk gitary jakby zapożyczony z Don' t Leave Me Now (album The Wall ). Nawiązania są tak wyraźne, że trochę dziwi brak stosownej adnotacji. Singel zamyka remix kompozcji tytułowej autorstwa Roberta i Magdy Srzednickich. 02 Panic Room widziany oczami Srzednickich nie różni się jakoś drastycznie od oryginału. Wyraźniej słychać klawisze, jest też hipnotyzujący sampel wokalu Dudy. Tracimy z widoku gitarę Grudzińskiego, która momentami wiedzie prym w głównym mixie (mamy za to krótką wstawkę na akustyku). Ogólnie zabieg ciekawy, wart umieszczenia jako b-side. Całość trwa niespełna dwadzieścia minut, jest wydana w ładnym.

In Roine Stolts own words this is Flower Kings to the max, explaining, We wanted to make a real hardcore symphonic rock and prog album. He also makes the bold claim that Any fan of early 70s prog up until the first UK album should love this album. There is certainly a feeling of nostalgia that pervades the album with lines like Play that song just one more time and Its like coming home, coming home again taken from the opening and closing songs respectively. Musically there is an attempt to sidestep the mainstream rock, jazz and ambient elements that have crept into the bands sound of late with a return to the symphonic style that characterised their best work. Totally in tune with the concept is Ed Unitsky's surreal artwork, a comment on the hippie culture that embraced prog rock during the early 70s. It could be argued that Unitsky is fast becoming Roger Deans successor for providing prog with a recognisable face with his distinctive album covers for TFKs, The Tangent and Manning amongst others. With its striking synth fanfare intro, One More Time is a superb opener. Sounding suitably strident, uplifting and melodious it realises Stolts intentions perfectly. Jonas Reingold features prominently in the mix with inventive bass work often doubling the melody in addition to providing rhythm. Hässe Froberg takes care of the vocal chores sounding in fine form whilst Tomas Bodin is given full reign with a tour de force display of keyboard virtuosity. Mellotron, Moog and.

The crowed participated and it was good to see that the band seemed to enjoy their selves too. Although Mariusz isn't the most talkable man in the Rock scene. Nice guitar solo's, powerful drums (without becoming too metal great bass loops and nice keyboards moods. A very good heavy show, great lights and a good set.
