With each new i OS release, Apple typically makes available the accompanying user guide through the Manuals section of its website. With the advent of i Books and the i Bookstore, the company started reformatting these manuals for the i Phone, i Pod touch and i Pad devices, making them available as free downloads on the i Bookstore. As we count the remaining hours until today’s i OS 7 release, we’ve just spotted the official i OS 7 manual on the i Bookstore The 138-page document (thanks, Robert!) covers the basics of i OS 7, including each stock app, the redesigned UI and new features such as Control Center and Air Drop. Like before, these guides are also device-specific so the i Phone, i Pod touch and i Pad each get their own version of the i OS 7 user guide to account for the hardware differences like the button layout, the form factor, the basic device set up procedure and more. You can download the i Pod touch and i Pad i Pad version of the manual through the i Bookstore or check out the Apple Manuals website for the PDF versions. Right now, the i Bookstore guides must be read on an i OS device, but not for long – O avericks with its standalone i Books Mac app is due soon. I’ll update the article as soon as an i Phone version of the manual is out – probably on Friday, when both new i Phones land on store shelves.
