12:14 PM My Laser Jet 4 works great - just as HP promised when I bought it. Now, HP customer support has told me HP has made a choice to NOT write a driver for it to work with Windows 7. How can I use my Laser Jet 4 - any ideas? I hate to drop it into my local landfill. 10:23 PM Actually HP did write a driver, it is supplied through Windows Update. On Windows 7 go to Start, Devicecs and Printers, Add a Printer, select the appropriate port, then when the list of printers comes up select Update. It will take a few minutes for the list to update, once it does the list will include under HP (not Hewlett- Packard) the HP Laserjet 4, see this post.
