Overview As of August 2010, more professional golfers played Taylor Made golf clubs than those of any other maker-50 golfers on the PGA, European and LPGA tours carry Taylor Made clubs. Pings are used by 46 players and Callaway clubs by 40 pros on the three tours. Professional golfers often help design the clubs they use. These clubs, and similar models, are available for purchase by the general public. On average, male professional golfers use drivers with a loft between 9.5 and 10.5 degrees. Callaway According to Callaway Golf, 18 PGA Tour players, 17 European Tour players and five LPGA players use the company's clubs. Phil Mickelson, Stuart Appleby and Ernie Els are among the PGA pros who carry the FT Tour driver. Mickelson won the 2010 Masters, Appleby shot a 59 in the closing round to win the Greenbrier Classic in August 2010, and Els won the 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational using the FT Tour driver. On the European Tour, Thomas Bjorn and Niclas Fasth are among the players who carry the FT Tour driver. Morgan Pressel, winner of the LPGA's 2008 Kapalua Classic and 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship uses the Callaway Diablo Edge Tour driver. Five LPGA players carry Callaways. Cleveland Boo Weekley and Vijay Singh head a list of 14 PGA players who carry Cleveland clubs, according to the Cleveland Golf website. Weekley, a two-time winner of the Verizon Heritage, and Singh, winner of three majors since turning pro in 1993, both carry a 10.5-degree Cleveland Launcher DST. Three European Tour players also carry Cleveland drivers and use either a Launcher series or a Hi- Bore XLS model. Nike Tiger Woods, the most well-known golfer in the world, headlined 10 PGA players who carry Nike clubs, according to the company's website. The VR Tour is the driver of choice for Nike golfers. Woods has won 14 majors and uses the VR Tour. Stewart Cink, who won the 2009 British Open also.

COM Equipment Insider LA QUINTA, Calif. - After putting a Callaway X- Hot driver in the bag at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Tommy Gainey had Callaway reps build him a new X- Hot 3-wood at Humana. They bent the lie angle to 61 degrees and gave him a half-degree more loft (14.5 degrees final loft). Gainey had been hitting his 3-wood slightly right, but with the new X- Hot setup, he was able to produce a draw off the ground and tee with the new club and immediately put it in the bag. Laird closes distance gap with Rocket Bladez Tour 3-iron: Brian Gay wasn't the only Taylor Made staffer who put a Rocket Bladez Tour long iron in the bag at Humana to close the distance gap. While Gay added a 4-iron to close the gap between his 5-iron and 19-degree rescue, Martin Laird went with a Rocket Bladez Tour 3-iron and 4-iron this week to bridge the gapping in the Rescue Zone. Laird commented that he loved the new trajectory, distance, dispersion and consistency with the new irons. He put the 3-iron and 4-iron in the bag at Humana. Titleist Pro V1x takes top five spots at Humana Challenge: For the first time this season, Titleist's Pro V1 took the top five spots on leaderboard. Brian Gay used the new 2013 Pro V1x to secure his fourth PGA TOUR win. David Lingmerth, Charles Howell III, James Hahn and Scott Stallings also used the Pro V1x. Glover, Cink add Taylor Made RBZ Stage 2 fairway woods: Former major winners Lucas Glover ( U. S. Open) and Stewart Cink ( British Open two of Taylor Made's newest additions, tested out RBZ Stage 2 fairway woods early in the week and decided to put the clubs in the bag. Cink went with a 14.5-degree 3-wood with a Mitsubishi Diamana X shaft, while Glover opted for a 14.5-degree 3-wood with a Aldila RIP X shaft. Josh Teater tests.
